Bio Note:
I am graduate student at Oklahoma State University pursuing my Master's degree in History. For my major field, I focus on American History, moreover the Civil War period. I am interested in researching marginalized subgroups like US Colored Troops and Southern Unionists. My tentative thesis topic focuses on the coercion of formerly enslaved men into military service during the war. I am hoping to also delve into the relationship between these men and Southern Unionists. As for my minor field, I am studying Public History as I plan to pursue a career as a historical interpreter at a state or national park or historical institution.
