Bio Note:
Eileen Palma is a part-time doctoral student at the University of Leeds. She holds a master’s degree in military history from Norwich University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. Eileen is veteran of the Army Reserves and works full-time as a program manager for the U.S. Navy. Her dissertation focuses on atrocity allegations made against the British military and their allies during the American Revolution. She will examine how the interplay of eighteenth-century laws of war, race and cultural perceptions, and newspaper reports shaped these allegations, and their impact on the first four years of the war.
