Thesis:

The UCCS Master’s Degree program is structured around three primary-sourced theses with a common theme. My overall focus for my Master’s degree is on the development and evolution of a naval service as it relates to a state’s expansion and security. My first thesis is titled “The Development and Evolution of Roman Maritime Power to The First Punic War,” my second thesis is titled “The Birth and Evolution of Italian Naval Special Warfare in the Mediterranean,” and my third thesis (to be written in Fall 2021) will focus on East Asian History.

Bio Note:

Marco earned his B.A. in History from Virginia Tech and received an Officer’s commission from the U.S. Air Force in 1995. He served for twenty years, eighteen of those in the Intelligence career field and multiple deployments. Marco had a variety of assignments and positions to include tactical, operational, joint, special operations, staff, and cyber. His last assignment was as an Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Planner at NORAD/USNORTHCOM before retiring honorably. Marco is also one of five elected board members of the Triview Metropolitan Special District in the Town of Monument which provides governmental services to over 4,000 citizens in northern El Paso County, CO. In November, he started a new job with the U.S Space Command as an Intelligence Specialist with Joint Task Force – Space Defense onboard Schriever AFB. Marco lives in Monument, CO with his lovely bride, two rambunctious kids (a girl, a.k.a. Kraken the Elder and a boy, a.k.a. Kraken the Younger), two rescue dogs, and an ever-expanding library.
