Bio Note:

Eamonn O'Keeffe is a DPhil (PhD) student at the University of Oxford researching British military musicians during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. His work explores the role of military music within the armed forces but also its impact on musical culture, popular politics and British and Irish society more broadly. Eamonn is also interested in exploring military honour, duelling, and courts-martial. A trustee of the Society for Army Historical Research, he will begin a junior research fellowship in the history of the British Army at the University of Cambridge (Queens' College) in October 2022. Eamonn has published several articles, edited a Napoleonic-era soldier's memoir for publication, and discussed his research widely in the media, including in two appearances on the BBC genealogy series 'Who Do You Think You Are?'.
